Rental terms
These terms apply to every rental by HORIZON LUX d.o.o., Stepinčeva 9, Split, OIB 67508128218. The written offer you receive for your dates states the total, the deposit and the insurance cover; together with these terms it forms the rental agreement signed at handover.
Driver. The driver is at least 25 years old and has held a full driving licence for at least three years. A valid licence, passport or ID card and a credit card in the driver’s name are presented at handover. Additional drivers are named in the contract and meet the same requirements.
Price and payment. Rates are published on this site and in the written offer; the price in the offer is the price. Nothing is charged online. Payment is made after the written offer, by any of four methods: cash, cryptocurrency, IBAN bank transfer (virman) before handover, or debit and credit card at handover. Cryptocurrency payments are converted at the rate agreed in writing in the offer.
Deposit and damage. A deposit of €3,000 is held and taken at handover of the car, and returned after the rental, provided the car comes back as it left: on time, undamaged, with the agreed fuel level and within the included mileage. If the vehicle is damaged during the rental, the driver’s share is 20% of the assessed repair cost and the insurance covers the remainder; the share is settled from the deposit and itemised in writing. Any other deductions are itemised in the same way.
Mileage and fuel. 200 km per rental day are included; each further kilometre is €2. The car is handed over with a full tank and comes back full; missing fuel is charged at cost plus the refuelling time.
Delivery and return. Delivery and collection anywhere between Trogir and Makarska, including Split Airport, are included in the rate. Other locations are quoted on request. Handover times are agreed in writing; if your flight is late, the airport handover moves with it.
Insurance. The car is insured as stated in the written offer. The driver’s share of any damage is 20% of the assessed repair cost, and the insurance covers the remaining 80%. Damage caused under the influence of alcohol or drugs, by gross negligence, off public roads or by an unauthorised driver is not covered.
Ferries and borders. Taking the car on a ferry to the Croatian islands is allowed when announced in the enquiry and confirmed in the offer. Leaving Croatia requires written approval in advance.
Cancellation. Enquiries are not bookings and carry no obligation. Once a rental is confirmed in writing, the cancellation conditions stated in that confirmation apply.
Law and disputes. Croatian law applies. Disputes are settled amicably first; otherwise the competent court in Split has jurisdiction.
